1. Come to the display screen where you want to take screenshot. 
2. Now, press ctrl button and hold.
3. Press Prtsc button quickly and release. 
4. Now, you will release the ctrl button and other you go! You have now captured the screenshot of the screen. 
5. This screenshot will appear in the form of Jpg file. In the above method, we discussed that the file will be .png but now, it will be .jpg.  This is the only difference in this method.

You may have heard a lot about third-party tools for taking screenshots. Some of the best tools are Snagit, Faststone capture, and Screenshot capture. Now, I will talk about Snagit here as this is the best tool for me, and I have personal experience to share with you. 

You can download and install Snagit software from the link I gave and can use it for free. Now, trying it for 10-15 days will help you understand the features easily. And, here is how you will capture your first screenshot on Snagit:

1- First of all set the screen that you want to take a picture of. 

2- Now, in the capture window, you will click on the all-in-one tab and then click on the capture button. Also, you can press print screen instead or press ctrl and shift and C. 

3- Now, you will see orange crosshairs appearing on the screen. So, click and stage them on the screen to capture the desired areas. That’s how to screenshot on gateway laptop. 

4- You will see an all bar tool appearing on the screen. So, select an option like the following:

5- Click on image capture button to capture the image on the screen. 

6- Click on the video capture button to record the video. 

7- Click on the panoramic option to start scrolling the area for capturing .
